PenArts, Inc presented the premiere of George Brant’s: Into the Breeches! It was the 4th professional PenArts production. We were excited to share this brilliant story of strong women in what is to become our new home, “The Gordon”.
Synopsis: It’s 1942 and with the men off at war, the Oberon Play House is lacking its director and leading men. The season will be canceled… until the director’s wife rallies the troops at home for an all-female production of Shakespeare’s Henry V. With the opportunity to move from the sidelines to centerstage, the women forge ahead with a spirit of collaboration, dauntless enthusiasm, and a belief in the power of art to move us forward. It reveals that a community can show it’s boldest self in the darkest of times. This surprisingly modern comedy proves that the show not only must go on, but will go on.
